Who do I work with?
Using Attachment-Focussed EMDR I work typically with clients whose difficulties stem from early life, childhood, adolescence, early adulthood. Sometimes however, it is a single event which may bring you to therapy.
You may therefore relate to be feeling any of the following:
- Depressed, having a low mood, low self-worth or low self-esteem
- Feeling anxious, on edge, catastrophizing, plagued by self-doubt, self-attack or perfectionism.
- Feeling irritable, or prone to angry outbursts.
- Feeling numb, not sure what you are feeling, feeling ‘out of it,’ struggling to feel present, ‘dissociating.’
- Feeling stuck in life, hopeless or despairing.
- Feeling confused about who you are and your direction in life
- Having experienced or currently experiencing trauma or abuse, (physical, emotional, mental, sexual, domestic, financial etc).
- Having experienced chronic trauma and being diagnosed with CPTSD (Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).
- Serious illness, or chronic, ongoing health conditions.
- Various types of workplace stress, overwork, bullying etc.
- Ongoing relationship difficulties. Domestic abuse.
- Feeling sad, having experienced loss or suffering grief.
- Struggling with an addictive lifestyle.
- Having experienced a specific traumatic event or events (accident, medical injury, assault).
